Eric Barstad is the editor of PoetryReviews.ca, and he currently lives with his wife Erin and their two cats—Finnegan and Pickles—in Brooks, Alberta.


DEREK BEAULIEU

Derek Beaulieu has been an editor of dANDelion, endnote and twice at filling Station (1998-2001 and 2004-present) in addition to editing housepress from 1997-2004. He is the author, or co-author, of 3 books of poetry, and the co-editor of the anthology Shift & Switch: new Canadian poetry. His work has appeared in over 80 journals and he has spoken about poetry and community in Canada, the US and England over the last few years.


SHARON BERG

Sharon Berg has authored several poetry books, audio collections, and academic works. She is the founding editor of Big Pond Rumours.


KRIS BRANDHAGEN

Kris Brandhagen lives and works in Montréal, Québec. Her work has appeared in such publications as In Medias Res and Spring Magazine, TransVerse Journal and Carousel Magazine.


ANNE BURKE

Anne Burke is the editor of Prairie Journal and a full member of the League of Canadian Poets. She founded the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association and the first charter school in Alberta (for gifted children).


JENNA BUTLER

Jenna Butler is an educator and poet who makes her home in Edmonton. Her work has garnered a number of awards, including CBC’s Alberta Anthology, and has been widely published in journals, anthologies and literary magazines in Canada and abroad. She is the founding editor of Rubicon Press.


EVIE CHRISTIE

Evie Christie’s first book of poetry, Gutted, was published by ECW Press this winter and she has written reviews for Women’s Post and published in Matrix, Taddle Creek, Kiss Machine, amongst others.


LYNDA CURNOE

Lynda Curnoe has been published by Ergo Books, Lyricalmyrical Press, Open Letter, The Literary Review of Canada, Psychic Rotunda and The London Reader.


JESSE FERGUSON

Jesse Ferguson was raised in Cornwall, Ontario, and is a member of The League of Canadian Poets. His poems have been published in eight countries, in both print and online formats. Recently, his work has appeared in: Ygdrasil, Matrix Magazine, Hammered Out, West 47, Word Riot, Spire, Jones Av., The Prairie Journal, Carillon Magazine, QWERTY, Aesthetica, Ottawater and some poems are slated to appear in the upcoming issues of The Nashwaak Review and dANDelion. He has two poetry collections forthcoming — one from Friday Circle and the other from Pooka Press. He is on the editorial board of the Ottawa literary journals Bywords and Yawp, and is a consulting editor for Quills Canadian Poetry Magazine.

Liam Ford lives in Coquitlam, BC.


JULIE HAMILTON

Julie Hamilton lives in Burlington, Ontario with her husband and two children. She studied English Literature and Creative Writing at York University in Toronto. Some of her stories have appeared in: Hamilton This Month Magazine, The Hamilton Spectator, The Burlington Post, The Toronto Sun and Canadian Ethnic Studies Journal. Julie Hamilton is an English Teacher and a writer.


VIVIAN HANSEN

Vivian Hansen’s poetry “Leylines of My Flesh” chronicles the voices of Danish immigrants to Western Canada. She won the First Annual Poetry Contest with Legacy Magazine in 2007. She also reviews for the Canadian Journal of Ethnic Studies.


JENN HOULE

Jenn Houle lives, works and writes in Shediac, New Brunswick. Her work has appeared in several Canadian literary journals, and is forthcoming in Carousel and CV2. She is currently working on her first collection of poems.


IAN LETOURNEAU

Ian LeTourneau’s poetry has appeared in The Fiddlehead, Arc, Event, and The Malahat Review. His work has twice won CBC’s Alberta Anthology, in 2005 and 2006. Gaspereau Press published Defining Range, a chapbook of poems, in 2006, and his first book Terminal Moraine was published by Thistledown Press in 2008. Rob Mclennan lives in Ottawa, even though he was born there. the author of twelve trade collections of poetry, most recently name, an errant (Stride, 2006) & aubade (Broken Jaw Press, 2006), he is currently working on a number of projects including a non-fiction book for Arsenal Pulp Press, Ottawa: The Unknown City (2007), a poetry collection, The Ottawa City Project, & finishing a novel, Missing Persons. MICHELLE MILLER

Michelle Miller is a queer-feminist writer of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Born and raised in Ontario, Michelle is trying to get used to life on the west coast, which is easy in the sun and impossible in the rain.


STEPHEN MORRISSEY

DONALD OFFICER

Donald Officer is a retired Ottawa teacher who has taught in the city’s high schools community college and university programs for many years after earlier successes in communications and journalism. He continues to consult, train and free lance although he’s now turning his attention again to creative writing as both a pursuit and study. In the eighties, Don was active in the Ottawa poetry scene submitting pieces that were often published in small magazines. He also contributed as an editor, radio host and featured reader. Reigniting his passion for poetry, he’s putting together a new collection while further refining his reviewer’s skill set. He aims to reach an audience that enjoys what he does.


PATRICK M. PILARSKI

Patrick M. Pilarski lives in Edmonton, and is the co-editor of the international short-form journal DailyHaiku. His work has appeared and is forthcoming in publications across North America, Europe, and Japan, recently including PRISM international, The Antigonish Review, Literary Review of Canada, and Modern Haiku. His first full-length collection, Huge Blue (2009), is forthcoming from Leaf Press, and he is the author of one experimental short-form chapbook: Five Weeks (2007).


JAMES POLLOCK

James Pollock grew up in southern Ontario. His poems have appeared in The Paris Review, The Dalhousie Review, The Texas Review, Grain, Gulf Coast, and Western Humanities Review, among other journals, and are forthcoming in Canadian Literature. He teaches creative writing and modern European literature at Loras College, in Iowa, and lives in Madison, Wisconsin.


ALESSANDRO PORCO

Alessandro Porco’s first collection of poetry, The Jill Kelly Poems, is published by ECW Press (2005). Currently, Porco attends the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he is completing a doctorate on Hip-Hop Poetics. A second collection of poetry, titled Augustine in Carthage, is forthcoming from ECW Press in the spring of 2008.

Matt Robinson works in Residential Life at UNB. A Poetry Editor at The Fiddlehead, his poetry has received numerous awards. His most recent collection is no cage contains a stare that well (ECW, 2005) a volume of hockey poems. Previous collections include tracery & interplay (Frog Hollow, 2004), how we play at it: a list (ECW, 2002), and A Ruckus of Awkward Stacking (Insomniac, 2000).

DIANE TUCKER

Diane Tucker was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she got a B.F.A. from the University of B.C. in 1987. Her first book of poems, God on His Haunches (Nightwood Editions), was shortlisted for the 1997 Gerald Lampert Memorial Award. Her poetry has been published in several anthologies and appears regularly in journals in Canada and abroad. Diane lives in Burnaby, BC with her husband, her teenage daughter and son and Doxa the spotty dog.


ZACHARIAH WELLS

Zachariah Wells is a writer, editor and passenger train conductor from PEI who lives in Halifax. He is the author of Unsettled (Insomniac Press, 2004), a collection of Arctic poems, and two chapbooks, most recently Ludicrous Parole (Mercutio Press, 2005). A regular contributor of reviews to Books in Canada and Quill & Quire, he is also a contributing editor to Canadian Notes & Queries.


JOANNA M. WESTON

Joanna M. Weston has had poetry, reviews, and short stories published in anthologies and journals for twenty years. Has two middle-readers, The Willow Tree Girl and Those Blue Shoes; also A Summer Father, poetry, published by Frontenac House of Calgary, all in print.
